Groove’n’play interactive fun and funky whole class music programmes, written and devised by composer and educationalist Sally Greaves, are high-quality curricular resources devised to support the development of a child’s musical talents and skills as performer, creator and listener. This is achieved through the scaffolded learning that groove ‘n’ play classroom programmes provide.
groovenplay takes a highly collaborative, supportive, and systemic approach to working with music hubs, school classroom teachers, and instrumental tutors.
The groove’n’play programmes feature specialised pathways that cater to KS1, KS2 and early Key Stage 3 KS3 across a variety of instruments:
• Sticks & Songs Series: Entry level vocal and instrumental programmes. (KS1, KS2).
• FIFTHS & FIFTHS 2: Multi-instrumental programmes combine singing, playing and reading (KS2).
• Targeted Instrumental Paths: Complete class-ensemble programmes devised for specific instrument families, including Strings (violin, viola, cello, double bass), Brass (trumpets and trombones), Woodwind (flute and clarinet in C), and Guitar and optional Mini Bass (KS2, KS3).
• Rastamouse Rocksteady Reggae School: groovenplay acts as the official distributor for this specialised Year 1 programme devised by Sally Greaves, teaching basic rhythm notation, actions, and singing using wooden spoons, drums, and ukuleles. (KS1)
