British Youth Music Theatre (BYMT) is the largest commissioner of new musicals in the UK. We support 11-21 year olds by equipping them with both the training and opportunities to step into their creative potential. Since 2003, we have commissioned and produced over 140 new music theatre shows and trained over 20,000 young people, with alumni including singer songwriters Ed Sheeran & Sam Smith, directors Luke Sheppard & Dean Johnson, TV & stage actors Charlotte Ritchie & Lauren Samuels, musical theatre performers Grace Mouat & Bradley Jaden.
We're providers of opportunities, confidence creators, and the sounding board every passionate performer and musician needs to create their own success. Our school and community workshops, auditions tour, camps and productions provide young people with the resources, guidance and knowledge to develop their skills, and our culture of authenticity, collaboration, and generosity inspires confidence in the young people we work with.
