Emily has taught music in inner London schools since 2010 after graduating from Cambridge University with an Arts degree in Music, a PGCE and a Masters degree in Education. She has worked at School21, a 4-18 state school based in Newham with a commitment to developing Oracy skills, since 2014; designing and developing the curriculum and community music offer there from scratch. The team she leads was recently awarded Outstanding Music Department at the 2024 Music & Drama education awards. Emily is also part of the MTA (Music Teachers’ Association) committee in a curriculum capacity and does presentations and workshops across the UK to share her work and collaborate with other music educators. .
