Emily has taught music in inner London schools since 2010 after graduating from Cambridge University with an Arts degree in Music, a PGCE and a Masters degree in Education. She has worked at School21, a 4-18 state school based in Newham with a commitment to developing Oracy skills, for the past ten years; designing and developing the curriculum and community music offer there from scratch. The team she leads was recently awarded music department of the year at the 2024 Music & Drama education awards. Emily is also part of the MTA committee in a curriculum capacity and has does a range of presentational and consultancy work across the UK around music education and curriculum design more broadly.
