Arts and Minds - Pushing the Government to Revolutionise Arts Subjects in Schools

30 Jan 2025
Keynote Theatre

This session invites delegates to be part of a new campaign aimed at improving the plight of arts subjects in schools.

The government’s independent curriculum review is ongoing, but whatever its outcome, it will be the government that chooses how to act on its recommendations. That’s why teachers of all arts subjects need to come together with one voice to tell the government what’s needed.

This session will feature a panel of the campaign’s leaders from the National Education Union and the Musicians’ Union, with questions and discussions from the floor.

Called Arts and Minds, the campaign will launch formally in February, so this is your chance to get involved and shape the campaign right from the start.

Speakers
Ed Harlow, District and Branch Secretary, Haringey NEU - National Education Union
Chris Walters, National Organiser, Education and Health & Wellbeing - Musicians' Union
