Music & Drama Education Expo 2023 opens calls for papers!

28 April 2022

The search for speakers for the 2023 edition of Europe's largest exhibition and conference for Music and Drama educators, taking place at the Business Design Centre, London, on 23 - 24 February, has been launched!

Organisers of the show are looking for session suggestions from music and drama educators with experience across a wide range of contexts, including technology, rock & pop, music from around the world, classical music, curriculum & exams, policy & funding, career development, business & marketing, current educational trends/approaches and new research, mind & body, and SEND & inclusion.

Delegates at the conference include classroom teachers from early years through to KS5; instrumental teachers from beginners to advanced; drama classroom teachers and independent practitioners; management – Heads of Department, Hub Heads and Heads of Music Service; and Higher Education professors.

Submit a session here, where you will also find submission guidelines and FAQs. The deadline for submissions is 13 June 2022.

After the deadline, an advisory board of music and drama education specialists will support the Heads of Content to curate a two-day programme of workshops, seminars and keynote speeches, performances and fireside chats, all designed to offer an exciting, informative and practical two days in London for thousands of delegates.

Sarah Lambie, Head of Content for the Drama stream of the conference programme, said, ‘Our call for papers is such a rewarding process: every year we discover new fantastic speakers who have inspiring ideas to share with our hundreds of drama teacher and practitioner delegates. We look forward to reading this year’s crop of proposals.’

Head of Music Content, Harriet Clifford, also said: ‘We’ve seen the quality and diversity of content coming through our Call for Papers go from strength to strength every year. It’s such a privilege to be inviting fantastic educators to share their ideas, expertise and innovations with us, and hopefully with our delegates. I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into the submissions and curating a rich, fresh and engaging Music programme that will be of genuine benefit to everyone who attends the Expo.’
