Many students love theatre but are not interested in being performers. There are many pathways into a career in theatre that do not involve performing, and it is essential for the sustainability of our art forms that we illuminate them.
By the end of this session, delegates will be able to:
Suitable for Key Stages 3 to 5.
- Identify the type of opportunities that exist for students beyond performance in the theatre and know some of the pathways that exist for students
- Understand the importance of including theatre skill vocational awareness as they lead students through the range of BTEC and GCSE courses
- Know the types of organisations to approach for opportunities in the field of backstage theatre skills
- Find opportunities available for teachers who wish to develop such skills too.
