Have you ever wondered what a melon sounds like? This interactive workshop will demonstrate that technology is a hugely powerful tool in enabling access and inclusion.

Using some of the latest technology (including the Sensel Morf, The Beamz, Numark Orbit, The New SoundBeam 6, Makey-Makey, Korg Nano Devices, Ableton Link, AlphaSphere, Ableton Live, The New GarageBand Chinese Instruments and Chameleon, iKaossilator, Bebot) – plus fruit and veg –  delegates will explore simple ways to differentiate, allowing a meaningful musical interaction for all students. No previous experience or knowledge of using technology in music is needed – just a willingness to engage, break down barriers and to explore how new technology can enhance musical learning.

This is a rare opportunity to try out (and have a tonne of fun) with a range of assistive music technology gear. Another London show favourite – make sure you swing by and check out the pineapples!

Delegates will:

  • Learn that differentiation can be simply applied to any song, enabling inclusion
  • Learn how to easily synchronise different devices to play in time during a performance
  • Learn how to play apps and assistive technology expressively
  • Explore how the accessibility and quality of new music technology can motivate and inspire all students.
